Since 1941, South
Florida's leading opera company has been producing
five grand operas per year. Featuring the Florida
Philharmonic Orchestra, the series brings stars like
Luciano Pavarotti to Miami. Traditional European
music is sung in its original language and English
subtitles are projected above the stage. The Florida Grand
Opera also hosts educational programs and has a
young artists training program.

resident professional orchestra performs 300
concerts a year. The repertoire is often quite
innovative. It presents the Peter Nero and Pops at
the Philharmonic series.

The local performance
season includes six of full-orchestra concerts,
